perfSONAR

perfSONAR is a network measurement toolkit designed to provide federated coverage of paths, and help to establish end-to-end usage expectations. There are 1000s of perfSONAR instances deployed world wide, many of which are available for open testing of key measures of network performance. This global infrastructure helps to identify and isolate problems as they happen, making the role of supporting network users easier for engineering teams, and increasing productivity when utilizing network resources.

perfSONAR provides a uniform interface that allows for the scheduling of measurements, storage of data in uniform formats, and scalable methods to retrieve data and generate visualizations. This extensible system can be modified to support new metrics, and there are endless possibilities for data presentation.

Eduroam
What is eduroam?

Malaysia eduroam website : http://eduroam.my/
eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.
Having started in Europe, eduroam has gained momentum throughout the research and education community and is now available in 72 territories.
eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop.
Generic version of eduroam
How does eduroam work?
duroam allows any user from an eduroam participating site to get network access at any institution connected to eduroam. Depending on local policies at the visited institutions, eduroam participants may also have additional resources at their disposal.
The user credentials are kept secure because eduroam does not share them with the site you’re visiting. Instead they are forwarded to the user’s home institution, where they can be verified and validated.
The system uses a network of servers run by the institutions, and the participating National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) to securely route these requests back to your home institute. All this happens seamlessly and virtually instantly – all thanks to eduroam!
Is eduroam safe to use?
eduroam is based on the most secure encryption and authentication standards in existence today. Its security by far exceeds typical commercial hotspots.
Be aware though that when using the general Internet at an eduroam hotspot, the local site security measures at that hotspot will apply to you as well. For example, the firewall settings at the visited place may be different from those you are used to at home, and as a guest you may have access to fewer services on the Internet than you have at home.
FILESENDER

FileSender is a way to share large files with anyone. It works through your web browser to send a file to any email address. FileSender can send files up to 100 GB. This considerable sending power allows users to transfer large files with ease..
Files sent by FileSender are available for download for up to 30 days after sending. Files can be downloaded an unlimited amount of times over this period.
Research and education staff in institutions around the country and abroad often need to share substantial information and large files with each other. This can vary from extensive documentation, to multimedia files, to big data sets, and more.
Domestic email servers tend to be restrictive in what they allow users to send. 25 MB is the threshold that email services such as Gmail currently provide. This can be restrictive for Research and education users who may need to rapidly and easily send large files over the internet. These files may need to be shared with people within, or completely outside the client institution. FileSender resolves the above issues through a simple, collaboratively-created service.
