The ASEAN–Korea High-Performance Computing (HPC) Facility is a regional initiative designed to strengthen high-performance computing capabilities and support data-driven research and innovation across the ASEAN region.

Hosted by Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and developed in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), the facility provides HPC infrastructure to support advanced computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and big-data research.

The facility aims to enable researchers and research institutions to explore complex scientific challenges, process large datasets, and advance research through high-performance computing resources.

Key Research Areas

The ASEAN–Korea HPC Facility supports research and innovation in several key areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning – Supporting AI development, model training, and computational research.
  • Big-Data Analytics – Enabling the processing and analysis of large and complex datasets.
  • Climate and Earth Sciences – Supporting computational studies related to climate, environmental systems, and Earth sciences.
  • Bioinformatics and Life Sciences – Facilitating data-intensive research in biological sciences and related fields.

Advancing Regional Research Collaboration

The ASEAN–Korea HPC Facility represents an opportunity to strengthen regional research collaboration by expanding access to advanced computing infrastructure and supporting data-intensive scientific activities.
